Gasland by Josh Fox

Some films can be viewed for the pure enjoyment of checking out a great flick. Other films are painful to watch, especially when the film in question is a documentary about something happening to real peole, and that is about to burst ut in a nationwide, and even worldwide scale. Josh Fox's Gasland, is the second kind of film.

If you haven't seen the documentary film, Gasland, you probably haven't seen the eyes of the people suffering from the effects of hydraulic fracturing. You probably haven't seen the animals, the cats and horses, with their fur falling out from drinking poisoned well water. You might not have seen a man light his tap water on fire. And, you might not have stopped to consider that all of the water in our huge biosphere is connected, and that the animals we use for food and plants we consume are also being fueled by the same, toxic water.

If you haven't seen Gasland, you should, if only so you know what your government and your environmental protection agency has deemed as acceptable - for you, and your children, and everyone you have ever cared about.

New EPA/Army Corps of Enigineers Clean Water Act Draft - Not a Good Thing - Speak Up Now

This act gives full control over water to the agencies that have already sold-out the American people.

The EPA is currently accepting public comment on this draft. If you don't want to drink carcinigen-laced water, more than you already are, this is your chance to speak out - possibly your last chance.

EPA, Army Corps draft new Clean Water Act guidelines that threaten to seize control of all water supplies

Oh, and don't think bottled water is going to save you. They are fracking and dumping the brine wherever they want, completely unchecked.

Fracking Brine Currently Being Dumped Into Wells in Ohio

According to The Marcellus Effect, as of last May, 2010, Ohio had 159 injection wells accepting fracking brine.

What that means for Ohioans is, ton upon ton, upon ton of contaminated, toxic water has been dumped into your ground, with the potential to seep into your drinking water, bringing with it cancer, asthma, and a laundry list of life-threatening diseases.

My next question; how many more injection wells have been approved by the Ohio officials charged with, and failing to protect its citizens?

NEOGAP

Network for Oil & Gas Accountability & Protection

This appears to be a fairly new website, but it's off to a good start in providing accurate information to concerned citizens.

About Us at Ohio, Frac, and the Environment

This site is here to share information, separate fact from fiction, and raise awareness about the practice of hydro-fracture gas drilling, also called, frac, frack, frak, fracting, and hydro-fracking.

New versions of the term hydro-fracture seem to be developing as the practice increases. By the same token, new facts about the dangers of the practice and its effect on the environment and on human life are increasing along with the practice.

We plan to offer links to credible sources, and to present facts in a clear, focused manner, making it easy for visitors to this site to find credible information.

While personally against the practice, especially unsafe the methods for disposing of fracking brine, if any redible information is found in support of the practice it will also be shared here. (So far all positive reports I have found have been sourced, or funded, by the companies making millions of dolars on the practice, and have proven invalid, damaging, and just plain hazardous to fresh-water supplies.)
